Another favourite dog walking spot of mine is Pollok Park!
Pollok Country Park is the largest park in Glasgow located South of the River Clyde. It has over 146 hectares of woodland and gardens and 11km of woodland paths, gardens and trails. The country park offers a circular walk that ensures both you and your pooch get some fresh air and exercise. A full loop of the park takes approximately an hour and covers just under 3 miles.
On my visit to Pollok Country Park the walk that we completed with my dogs was 4km and took us just under an hour. We chose a route that was through the woodland paths away from the roads so that we could let the dogs off of their leads without having to worry about any cars. We parked in the carpark behind pollok house which was ideal as it is situated in the centre of the park and no charges apply.
From my experience the benefits that Pollok Park has to offer dog walkers is the variety of different routes that are available. There is the option of walking through big open fields which is perfect for playing fetch with your pooch and there is also the option of strolling through the wooded areas with clear, well maintained paths which is great for curious doggies who love to explore. The pond has benches situated beside it that walkers can sit on during their walk to take a break and enjoy some fresh air.
To top it all off Pollok Park was previously voted the best country park in Europe so it is absolutely worth the visit!
Thanks for reading!
